Default Are you SURE this is what you want to emulate?

Another example of the exemplary British healthcare system at work.

Do you seriously think that the manner in which health care is paid for had anything to do with this?

Yes, that is exactly what I think. Quality will go WAY down. I know you do not agree. Only time will tell.

Not how it is paid for, necessarily. How it is managed. By the government. Going to a clinic will be as much fun as going to the DMV.

I have, Doofie. And I can tell you I don't want one from a doctor who is approved by the IRS. Remember, they are administering Obamacare.

I've only just seen this thread, but I did read the report when it came out.

Inexcusable.

It is actually my local hospital. My wife always refused to give birth there, it has a bad reputation, so my last child we had to drive across the river to Chelsea and Westminster, we got stuck in traffic and he was born in the car on the bridge. Popped out into my hands.

There are many stories in UK about nurse uncaring attitudes, I'm not sure what the problem is, low pay, poor quality, low esteem, outsourcing, recruitment policies, management structure (lack of the old ward matron who scared everybody shitless).

I'm not going to make a political or policy comment, but there is a difference in the number of beds and in/out patient care.

Maybe UK mistakes happen inside the hospital, US mistakes are concluded outside?

Does the US press publish stories about similar incidents? I do not believe there are no similar medical/nursing cases in the US. How many doctors/nurses are prosecuted in the US?
