There is actually a wide world of difference between 3G phones and 4G.

First, since it is RF and it is using the same cell towers; there will be dead zone areas.
Second, They have a device called UBS G+, this allows to autoswitch from 4G to 3G for wider coverage when you get weak 4G signal. This will work in rural areas and small towns if you travel and stay in them.

Right now I live east of 130, and it doesn't work there, but I have wifi at the house. But it works at my job, it works all over Austin proper, and it works in San Marcos.
