A few months ago, Whoopie let the cat out of the bag about how many Blacks feel about Jews. They had to take her off for re-education.
It's interesting that early in her career Kamala emphasized her Indian heritage. Now, not so much.
Obama emphasized his mixed heritage during the campaign for president. Once he got in office, he fell back on the same old race baiting.

So, myh father-in-law was born in Venezuela. He came to America in the 1930s when his father brought the family to New York on business; Ellis Island, visas and passports and all the other paperwork. He grew up on Long Island and served in WW-II. Became citizen, changed his name and became a successful businessman in his own right. Married my mother-in-law after the war. Her side of the family goes back to Peter Stuyvesant and the Dutch settlement of New York in the 1600s.

Does that make my wife Hispanic? What about our son? Our two grandchildren?

On govt paperwork, they all self-identify as Hispanic.

Sorry. I was trying to make the point that the NAACP is an advocacy group for those who self-identify as "people-of-color.", yet the chapter in the story linked to in the OP seems to be non-accepting of Asian people.

From this aspect of the topic, the thread responders obliquely brought in the concept of mixed-race heritage and prominent political figures who choose to self-identify as one or another of the major components of their heritage.

I posed the question of how much is one component worth in self-identification with regard to my extended family.

I apologize if it seems that the thread has drifted away from the OP, but it is my opinion that it has not.

I will accedpt whatever judgement the Mods and Admins have on this.
