The maint. cost per turbine is currently @2% of original installed cost of the turbine per year. Life cycle is 20 years. Solar doesn't really require much maint. time unless atmospheric conditions are bad (smog, salt spray, etc.) They're typically made from tempered glass to resist damage from hail.
Also, tracking mounts, if used, will have a higher level of maint needed.
The life cycle for panels is 25 years.
Do you have a figure for maintenance per KHW, as well as how many KWH they produce under normal conditions per the life of the installation divided by the cost of installation and lifetime overhead?
I guess the only other cost would be land rental and tolls for transmission lines?

Well, Trump did want to get the Arabs oil after we saved their ass!

I'll let him know you want to bomb NK for the suppression of their coal industry...

Hint -- it isn't by rubbing a balloon on your argyle sleeveless pullover, dipshit.
Yes I know how electricity can be generated. There are many to do it besides coal dumb fuck.

They don't break the cost down by KWH in the articles I read. That's because a specific turbine, on a different site, will have outputs that vary widely. There are many variables to figure power output. The maintenance costs were general averages.
Many wind farms own the land and turbines. If a wind farm is along an existing transmission route, they can tie in there without the cost of crossing private property.
While rated for 20 years, some tower assemblies can have just the turbine replaced or could be rebuilt. Each case is different.
Bottom line is it's a business that has specific costs dependent on many factors. Each new generation of turbine produces more power and has lower maintenance costs. Some towers have 2 generators to increase the usable energy they produce. High speed wind can turn a larger capacity generator but if the wind drops off the blades won't turn a high resistance generator. This is all on an individual case by case basis.

Thanks for the info - I'm consider investing just in case there is money in it. I'm going to look up the amount generated over the 20 year life. The things make some wicked noise up close!
