There is no big deal about it. Unfortunately, our tinfoil hat wearing brethren have created panic amongst some.

Basically, this is an exercise involving special operators. It will be conducted in 7 different states, Texas one of them. What makes us unique is that we have a majority of the civilian areas that will be used. In addition to two national guard camps, Jade Helm will take place in 12 of our 254 counties, mostly rural counties, however Brazos county (Bryan/College Station) is on the list. as are Burleson county (Caldwell), and Bastrop county (just east of Austin).
