Was informed by my parents that a man called claiming to be the IRS told them they would be audited. My mom managed to catch it after getting the call on speakerphone.

My dad will be 60 in June and, mother will be 29 for the 26th time in October.

Please be careful and as knowledge to be spread, the IRS will NEVER contact you via phone.

I had a someone call me yesterday claim to be Excel Energy. I never answer my phone to a number I don't know. My thought is if they really need to talk to me they would leave a voicemail. I called Excel customer support off my bill and asked them if they called and I gave them the number that was left on my voicemail. They said they would investigate but that was not a number they use. They said they would get back to me with information if possible.

Excel does have contractors in the area doing free, yes free, winterizing and inspecting homes for energy conservation. I had a number they originally left me that was not affiliated with Excel and most Excel employees aren't aware they are out and about. They do this for all electric only homes. It was a good deal for my 7 year old house.
