Quick and you don't need to schedule with a photographer days or weeks in advance if the photographer is you lol. I think lots of the ones who like doing them should get better cameras tho.
Oh and a pro photographer will only touch up a picture as much as you tell them to and thinks like marking out identifying scars or tattoos I get. Altering professional photos for other reasons is a waste of money. Just because they are professional doesn't automatically mean they've been altered to death.

Using a pro photog has its advantages. The chief of them is you're getting an outsider's point of view on what looks good. Whenever I've taken pics, I try to make sure the setting is clean and the model isn't doing an unflattering pose. Good lighting does wonders, too, when it comes to bringing out your best features. And, no, getting someone to take pictures doesn't take a whole lot of advanced scheduling. Several of us can come pretty quickly to wherever you are.
