The Old Age Phrase of "Absence makes the heart grow fonder" ... Is that phrase only partly True/false

As humans Some people like to find something to Make sense of their lives....

This is one of those statements I can Picture a My great grandmother Telling me....

She's pushing 101... Anyways... to me this phrase of endearment only seems partly true..

As humans I think that if the heart is void for too long it will begin to fill it with plenty of stuff your S.O. May not want keeping you company while they are absent....

Is this why the hobby business can be so successful? hmmmm.. Funny.. another one of those things from my psychology classes....
is it cheating? Or is it just like a literal hobby something to do in the mean time...
