To Blog or not to Blog...
Seriously, what's the deal with Blogs/Blogging?? Am I missing something??? Perhaps I did not catch the wave of this new phenomenon, but I am left puzzled by the amount of Blogging going on out there
What inspires one to blog? What do you blog about? Who reads blogs? I just like saying blog... Do I need a blog?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't it seem a bit self-indulgent?

Blogging (and Tweeting) is the CB radio of the 21st century. As Charli Knox says,"LOOK AT ME!!"

I guess its a way to vent or bullshit and have everyone read.
Kind of like Therapy I guess, like if you not good at expressing your feelings, you can write or type about it I suppose.

I suppose I could write a blog about my Hobby adventures, but I have a feeling if Nicole or Berkleigh had a blog it would be way more interesting than anything I could come up with

No one NEEDS a blog - and yes it IS one of the most self-indulgent things one can do on the Internet. I've been doing it for 10 years, though, so it's NOT new, lol.
Some of my clients have one for advertising purposes, some have them because they love to write, some of the stuff they write can turns out to be good advertising, lol.

Sure.
As are probably half of the posts on P4P boards, and a pretty good percentage of reviews.

I'm ok on blogs, especially given the specialized nature of some of the blogs/ topics. I read some that are specialized to my area of business.
Ok, I just don't get tweeting. Tweeting and cell phone use fulltime while on an airplane will not be something I will be doing. I am surely not that damn important and commerce as we know it existed for a couple hundred of years before these developments.

I'll never understand it. Nor will I understand the need to constantly tell the world what you are doing on Facebook, Twitter, etc.

In the case of many people, FB and Twitter aren't aimed at the world, they're aimed at personal friends and acquaintances. That the world sees them is an unfortunate (or fortunate, depending) byside.
That said, users of Twitter and FB can choose who sees their accounts, so ...
Personally, I love both of them for business AND personal reasons. I don't FB for business, I use it for my family and RL friend contacts, but I tweet the HELL out of the world, lol.
Twitter is a great way to get specials out to my clients and prospective clients.

Self indugent, narcissistic, a cry for understanding, support. I would rather communicate in a more personal manner. If you are a celebrity, ok. If you are just an average Joe or Joanne then it's indicative of need, or purpose, or real meaning in your life. Maybe it just means you are bored and need more fulfillment in your life.
If you are using it for a communication tool or to keep up with friends and family, then it's fun and functional. If you've got something informative to blog about then blog. If it makes you happy then blog as well. Someone will read it.
Another thing I don't understand is this whole Twilight thing. A lot of angst and no substance. Typical.

Wow! I thought when I read the title of this post that Nicole was considering starting a blog. Oh well, I would read it if she started one! Most of the so called blogs are crap, but there are some very good ones as well. This is one of my favs at the moment: http://www.seriouseats.com/

The world has gone mad posting all their personal stuff on the Internet, IMO. The biggest commodity today and the foreseeable future is information. The technology to compile all this data that people put into cyberspace and make it searchable and profileable exists. Not as fast as the cop shows on TV, but for investigative and marketing purposes, it is available. Develop a security policy before diving in.
