...I saw something interesting. Leon Uris wrote the book Exodus about the 1947 founding of Israel. It was made into a movie in 1960. So we're talking about a span 13 years. Repeatedly, the Jewish characters refer to themselves as PALESTINIANS. Paul Newman's character Ari said he was a Sabra, a native born PALESTINIAN. The Jews and others born there are the Palestinians and not those murderous refugees.

As the book was written about the founding/establishment of Israel.

The characters would have been Palestinian at the time as Israel had not been "founded" yet.

Israel was founded May 14, 1948

Sabra in current context means a native born Israeli.

At the time of the book it would have meant a native born Palestinian.

Interestingly enough, the actual meaning of Sabra is "a type of prickly pear endemic in the Middle East."

Colloquially the term sabra is viewed as a metaphor for the Israeli—someone with a rough exterior but a sweet, sensitive soul.

Time marches on and the definitions of words often change with the times.

My hope is that my post will be educational and bring an end to this thread, but I am concerned that it will not stop the trolling of the Forums.

The point of this thread is to show how addled the youth in this country are. Especially those in college. The definition of what a Palestinian is a modern interpretation but these idiots try to claim the Middle East going back 3000 years. No one on this site was accused of being a Hamas supporter. That is a straw man. However, leftists generally move about in herds so I would not be surprised.

Frankly, I'm happy to hear that we don't have any on this site. I was listening this morning and a released October 7th hostage was explaining that they were berated by the terrorists about many people they (the terrorists) had on our universities. He was shown photos of protests in Columbia.

Funny how we can't agree on January 6th.

Let me give you some insight; I was a voracious reader throughout school. One of my favorite things was the Time Magazine yearly collection of magazines called a Time Capsule. You could read what was said, whom said it, and how it was said in 1927. News, sciences, entertainment, and advertising was all there just as it was written. Same thing for older movies. Not the content but the way it was said. Mission to Moscow was pure propaganda produced and acted in By Walter Huston.
Israelis called themselves Palestinians before 1960. I was watching September 5th last night. The Munich terrorist attack in 1972. What did the clips from that era tell us? They were called ARAB terrorists. Why is this even important? It should teach us all to really look at language. Today's liberal is not very liberal. Someone calls someone a Nazi or fascist and you really have to look at the speaker. They have no idea what they're talking about. The more they say it the more foolish they look.
