I quite enjoyed the previous incarnation of this thread, so why don't we get it started up again...

Did anyone get anything new over the holidays? I picked up Uncharted 2 and am really enjoying it. I still need to get Dragon Age: Origins, and I've been hearing pretty good things about Bayonetta.

Also, there's apparently a game called Demon's Souls that's been out for a little while, but I've been hearing a lot of recommendations for it. Heard anything about it?

Demon's Souls is the "be careful what you wish for" RPG. Hard and rewarding as hell. About 1/3 way through that game. If you like old-school RPG's and are okay with an action element, you'll love this game.

Bayonetta...tried out the demo...good but not as great as some reviewers made it out to be. Think God of War meets elements of Space Channel 5, Final Fantasy XII, and Max Payne. May buy it when it becomes $19.99.

Bayonetta is about the oddest thing I've ever played in my life. I need to start over at the easy skill level, I'm not good enough out of the gate to get the combos necessary to clock this thing at normal level. Cutscenes run a little too long, but there's eye candy galore to make up for it.

I don't know how many fighting game fans we have here, but I can't wait to play Tatsunoko VS Capcom. I love the verses series of games. They are so off the wall that anyone can have fun with them!

I'm a big Left 4 Dead proponent. Been playing L4D2 trying to get better at the tougher levels. Never know when you might need to be ready for the zombie apocalypse.

I remember when I lost my soul to WoW. I've tried to pick it up and play but there's really no one around to level with me. I lost my 2 high lvl toons bc they were on my ex's account (boo!) and I tried playing like a month ago and it was super lame bc I had no one to quest with or lvl with and I got bored fast and put it down again.

If you can get a friend to play with you, use the recruit-a-friend and have them buy a new box, that way you get triple exp till 60 and you'll level up super quick AND have somebody to play with!

My son(s) are addicted to COD2 on the Xbox360. I haven't played games since DonkeyKong was an arcade console game, but I got a new 250g PS3 for Christmas so I gotta learn what all of them buttons are for. I have Uncharted 2, a Rachet and Clank game and one other. If anyone can suggest something easy to start with, I am all ears!!
